Nicaraguan Mustangs

he Fuerza Aérea de la Guardia Nacional de Nicaragua received 25 (26 ?) F-51D Mustangs from Sweden in January 1955, which were used to form a fighter squadron. Later, the US delivered another seven aircraft and two TF-51D twin-seaters. Although the majority of these aircraft were sold in 1961, three were lent to anti-Castro Cuban exiles for use during the Bay of Pigs operation but were never used. It is also possible that a Mustang was used in 1980 by Sandinist rebels.
